Bertil Lintner has lived in Thailand since 1979. Currently based in Chiang Mai, he has worked for many years as the SE Asia correspondent for Sweden's Svenska Dagbladet and Denmark's Politiken, as well as a senior writer for the Far Eastern Economic Review and a regular contributor to Jane's Publishing Group, including Jane's Defence Weekly and Jane's Intelligence Review. Ronald D. Renard
Dr Renard has lived in Chiang Mai for more than 25 years, dividing his time between university teaching, managing the Indochina Subregional Highland People's Project for the UNDP, and acting as a consultant for the United Nations International Drug Control Programme. The author of several books on Southeast Asia, he speaks Thai, Northern Thai and Burmese. He is a former editor of the Journal of the Siam Society, and is currently working with the UN Wa Project on the China-Burma border.

Robert Tilley moved to Asia in 2000 after a long career in newspapers, magazines, radio and television in Britain, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe and Spain. He was the London Daily Telegraph's correspondent in southern Germany for 25 years and covered post-communist Eastern Europe as a feature writer for the Sunday Telegraph. For many years he worked as a researcher and writer for Fodor's Travel Guides in Germany, Spain and Eastern Europe. From his base in Chiang Mai he now covers Burma. He speaks and writes fluent German and also works in Spanish, French and Russian.
